ANNIE SANDS

I have lived in Great Bromley for 20 years, my son attended St George's School and Gt Bromley Cricket Club. 

I served for a number of years as a Colchester Borough Councillor for St Andrews Ward. I am one of the founders of Disability Advice and Welfare Network, representing people at tier 1 and 2 tribunals. I sit on several national strategic committees, and until recently chaired the regional disability stakeholder group. I work with Legal Centres providing advocacy for vulnerable and disabled people, and I am a member of the All Members Parliamentary Judicial Round Table Panel.  I am the author of the DWP Autism Insight report and the legally recognised Autism Passport. 

Locally, I hold a monthly advice surgery at the Bromley Cross and the Village Hall. For the past few months, I have been working with Gt Bromley residents to track the fly outbreaks, collecting reports, mapping wind patterns, and sharing evidence with environmental bodies. I also regularly speak up on proposed developments that will affect the future and environment of Great Bromley. 

I will keep supporting the village and making sure concerns are properly heard. 

I am a Trustee of our village hall and hold the position of Secretary. 

Outside of that, I enjoy making the post box toppers and spending time with my family and friends. I am currently researching with the help of Hugh Frostick the poisoning case of Elizabeth Kittle who lived and died in Gt Bromley.  

I dislike injustice in all its forms and am committed to being available and accessible in the parish role.
